As promised here's the recipe for my awesomely delicious hamburger that was posted on Instagram, FB, Twitter and Tumbler Memorial Day weekend.

You must understand, I've been craving a burger with bread for over a month. I went to a couple of burger joints and was under satisfied to say the least. Upon visiting Dekalb Farmers Market on Saturday morning I purchased the perfect roll. All of their breads/rolls are made with organic wheat flour, cage-free eggs, etc. which made me a little to comfortable with purchasing multiple types of bread. I must say, after having a brief meeting with myself and I, a executive decision was made to choose ONE and put the rest back on the shelf. Even though the bread ingredients are organic, etc., CARBS still are present. In order to have a great burger IF you are going to have a bun,, let it be the best, otherwise use lettuce or tomatoes be your anchor around the burger. For the record, this burger is topped with Tracye's Not So Creamy Spinach!

I used ground chuck because a degree of fat is needed for flavor and juiciness!

HERE WE GO!

1 Egg or Challah Roll

1/3 lb ground Chuck

1/2 Tablespoon Tracye's Chicken Salad Dressing

Jack and Cheddar Cheese

1 cup Fresh Baby Spinach

1/4 cup Sweet Onion (thinly sliced)

Red Bell Pepper cut in strips

Condiments of your choice

Season ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder and minced onion. Pan sear over medium heat until cooked to at least 160 degrees. Top with cheese and place lid

In a separate saute pan, 1/2 tablespoon olive oil and onion on medium high heat for 2 min. then reduce heat to medium/low heat, stirring frequently for 20-25 min until golden brown. About 10 minutes into caramelizing the onions add the bell pepper strips. When the 25 min. caramelizing time is complete, push onions to the side and toss in the spinach and 1/2 tablespoon of Tracye's Chicken Salad Dressing, saute the baby spinach until it begins to wilt. Remove from heat and sit aside.

GO AHEAD ASSEMBLE your burger. Here's how I do it...

Bottom bun has caramelized onions, mayo, ketchup and mustard. Place burger on top, then top with spinach & red bell peppers...Enjoy

Set oven on Broil, butter roll and place under broiler until lightly toasted
